The day I knew it had to changeAug 07, 2023
I remember this day vividly… 6:30 am, the sky was starting to change colors as the sun rose… Starbucks in hand…
Walking into the clinic to catch up on notes from the day before.
Now this was something I had done many times, but something was different about today. As I stepped out of my car and walked toward the clinic door, I had a thought:
“Is this it? Is this what I am going to be doing for the next 20-30 years… walking into the same building... Working in the same space… for the rest of my career?”
It felt like a scene from the movie Groundhog Day - every day waking up and running on repeat.
Later that night, I filed for my LLC.
I think everyone goes through this moment. A moment of clarity where you just feel like something is off like you’re not where you’re meant to be.
Unfortunately, too many people feel this and recognize it but get held back by limiting beliefs that this is just what it’s supposed to be like. That you just pick a career, collect your retirement benefits, and ride off into the sunset.
To be fair, this is what it’s like for a lot of people… but I wasn't about that. I had dreams of treating in a gym setting, I loved the business aspect of the journey, and I knew I needed a change - even though I wasn’t ready for it.
The truth about making that leap is you’re never truly ready… what would that even mean? You just have to make the decision to start - exactly like I did that day.
I tell you this story so you know that at one point, I was exactly where you are. I had the same fears, the same doubts, the same hesitations, the same lessons I needed to learn… but I was ready to take action.
And I know I’m not alone. I know you’re out there reading this ready for the nudge… and I know that at some point, you’ll know, “This is the moment I decide to change my path.”
