This one shift could change your trajectory… 

I was listening to a training from a mentorship group I am a part of this morning and this lesson truly summarizes a lot of what I believe as well as what I have seen with people who have been successful in entrepreneurship.

So often, we are focused on the strategies and tactics of what we need to do to be successful… to crush a sales month, to attract more clients… you name it and the focus is usually on the strategy.

The focus is on the WHAT or the HOW.

And sometimes, rarely, but sometimes, this can be the case and people are just a small tweak away from a big change, but usually what it all boils down to is WHO they need to become to take things to the next level. 

Let’s take the skill of sales for an example, since it’s often one of the more contentious points and areas of resistance coaches and rehab pros… 

Is it truly that you need to know how to conduct a sales process?

Or is it actually that you need to become the person who can put themselves in uncomfortable situations, who can ask people difficult questions without getting charged, who can make and offer and tolerate rejection…

I learned this when I did my sales training. Absorbing the knowledge was only one piece of the puzzle. I had to become the person who could put themselves out there. WHo could try fumbling through something new knowing that this was the path to becoming who I needed to be.

Trust me, this was difficult! (and that’s the entire point)

You won’t get what you want out of entrepreneurship if you just expect to move like the other 99% of the population. You have to be ready to move differently. You have to become the person who is ok with that. WHo has no set schedule. No rulebook to follow. No instruction manual. 

Understanding the process and skill is only one piece of the puzzle, becoming the person who can hold the weight of change is the real growth. 

This is what separates those who make it and those who always end up watching… wishing… wanting… from the sidelines. 

It’s not about WHAT or HOW… it’s about WHO you need to become.
